Meeting the people behind Irish websites

One of our account managers, Sean Needham, has been on a nationwide tour of Ireland all summer. Travelling around visiting organisations of all shapes and sizes, he has not only been able to help our current customers get the most of our products, but also gathering ideas and suggestions on further product development, based on the feedback he received.

Sponsoring the Minnesota Counties Computer Cooperative’s annual conference

The Minnesota Counties Computer Cooperative held their annual conference between June 1st and June 4th. Siteimprove are very pleased to have sponsored the event. It gave us a great chance to talk to, and get to know the people we work with, and hope to work with in the counties.

New accessibility guidelines

Over the past year, the Accessibility module of the SiteCheck service has identified and helped users resolve accessibility issues on their websites. The guidelines from W3C have been used as a outline for this module.

On the 11th December 2008, the second version of the W3C's accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.0) was released, after a long wait. The new guidelines make accessibility checks more unique and give much better guidance to the user.

We look forward to updating and developing SiteCheck Accessibility module, with support from WCAG 2, in the spring of 2009. The new guidelines will allow us to clearly demonstrate the overall accessibility level of your website, and what tasks are missing.

Partnering up to ensure that essential information flows freely

Building on the continued success in the United States, Siteimprove have entered a strategic partnership with StayWell Custom Communications, who develop custom content solutions for health care organisations across the US.

Public Sector Forums - Essential Issues for Managers, Developers and Others

On December 4th, the UK Public Sector Forums arranged the event Public Sector Websites – Essential Issues for Managers, Developers and Others, at Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Birmingham. Delegates from a wide range of public sector organisations braved the wintry weather to discuss issues such as accessibility, web law, mobile internet and social networking.

Scottish web teams impressed with Siteimprove

Siteimprove sponsored the Scottish Web teams forum in Edinburgh on 1st October. We made in-depth presentations on three products: SiteCheck, SiteAnalyze and SearchImprove and gave the first public showing of the new Dashboard which is being beta-tested by customers across the UK, US and Ireland. The event was extremely well received and we got some great feedback from the attendees. Both existing customers and prospective customers contributed with suggestions for further product development and many decided to take our offer of a free trial on our products.

Server move leads to further improvements

A move of SiteCheck and SiteAnalyze UK services to new servers with five times the capacity has been completed to further improve the responsiveness of our services. SiteAnalyze already has amongst the shortest response times in the market, and now they are shortened even further.

Show people you take your website seriously

Some of our customers have requested a logo they can put on their website, showing that they use web management and maintenance tools from Siteimprove to provide an error free and effective website. The logo can, for example, be linked to a page explaining how the organisation maintains a top quality website.

We have now made these available for all our customers. If you use any of our products and would like to have a logo on your site, we will provide one free of charge.

SiteAnalyze Update - Document Downloads, External Link Usage, Search Term Trends.

An important part of the Siteimprove policy is to continue to improve and develop our services in line with customer needs and suggestions. With this in mind, we have recently made some useful updates to the SiteAnalyze service.

As a result of the success we have experienced since our entry into the US market in October 2007, the company happily announces the appointment of four new sales representatives to our Minneapolis site.

Siteimprove USA is approaching 250 customers

Siteimprove’s United States Office, which serves both the United States and Canadian customers, is now working with 240 organizations and growing fast.

Siteimprove sponsored the annual 3CMA (City-County Communications and Marketing Association) conference in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, USA on October 23rd, 2008. 300 attendees had the opportunity to network and share ideas on how to best promote their cities or counties. The company, and especially the product SiteCheck, were well received. Considering Siteimprove’s relatively recent entry onto the US market, the event provided a great opportunity to meet customers and potential clients face-to-face.

We are happy to announce the launch of our new Swedish website. This follows the recent entry into the Swedish market, building on our record of success in the British, Irish, US and Danish markets. Considering the similarities in the challenges facing webmasters in these countries, they are certain the Swedish market will give us a warm welcome. Initial responses and sales figures strongly support this.
